Hands Down, this 86th Annual Academy Awards was one of the most emotionally charged Oscars to date! And trust me when I tell you that I painfully sat through many of them in hopes of witnessing what I witnessed on March 2nd in Vermont. I arrived in the Upper Valley to work on a Interior Consultation for a loyal and long time client that evening. We decided to have a little fun before rolling up our sleeves with a surprise visit to the annual Revolution Oscar Party.

Here with Kelley, Nicole, and Monica

There were so many First! And the Oscar goes to director Steve McQueen, a black filmmaker of “12 Years a Slave” for best picture, Alfonso Cuaron, a Latino director of “Gravity” for best director, in a ceremony hosted by a Lesbian and overseen by the academy’s first black president, Cheryl Boone Isaacs who is also a fellow member of The Soka Gakkai International.

After much deliberation, here are the winners of The 86th Oscars “Fab Five Favs!”

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen

Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior Haute Couture

Anne Hathaway in Gucci

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

And an Honorable Mention to Bette Midler

Mission Statement: "ELEMENTS of FIERCE!" is a celebration of artistic expression! The founder, Blane Charles, explores not what people wear, but who is wearing it? He feels that we all have a special style waiting to be shared with the world. Blane also wants to celebrate freedom of expression, uniqueness, individuality, and authenticity! Stay tuned to my "FAB FIVE FAVS!" where I feature five works of inspiration and beauty from my day to day travels.
