|Question and Answer:Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure the provider is not coming with their own agenda.
Q: If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A: I pride myself in keeping my client’s fingers on the pulse of up and coming new designers serving as a conduit between the client and the artist, many of which are my dear friends, giving the client a personal connection.
Q: What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A: You want to ask questions that will give you some indication of how much experience the person has and to be assured that the person will be able to fulfill the task.
Q: What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A: To open any consultation, I always ask what is your intention for this session. It’s very important to be clear and connected to gain the most from your consultation. I’ve created an opening exercise to help my clients focus on themselves.
Q: Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A: My work stands out from others because I’m not concerned only with what the latest trends/fads are. The most important factor in my work is empowering my clients to live their best lives by making sure their wardrobe and interiors reflect what makes them a fabulous individual!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The change in my clients posture after a session with me! My favorite quotes are;
“I never knew I had so much style!”
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What’s your answer?
A: Can I wear that? Know your body and love your body then you will know how to enhance it!
Does this work on me or in my space? If it gives you a sense of empowerment it’s working!
Is this too much? If you have to ask that question, always remember “Less Is More”.
Q: Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A: One of my dear clients, who has come back to me to dress her for all of her daughter’s weddings in PETER SORONEN is partly responsible for our 1st Lady now wearing his fashions. My client has been wearing P. S. to White House functions for many years.
My relationship with Peter was born at BARNEYS NY in 2002 were I served as Evening Wear Specialist for nine years transforming a non profitable department into one that broke profit margins year after year. Peter and I had an immediate connection when we met as we are both artist ready to go beyond the call of duty to satisfy our customers. I offered a complete personal shopping experience for my clients dressing them for a special occasion from head to toe and Peter would come in to personally do a fitting or custom design the perfect shrug to complete the look for my client.
After nine years of stellar service and leaving BARNEYS NY to start my own Design/Wellness Consulting company, BEAU-T BY BLANE, I still have a following of loyal clients committed to the humble and attentive demeanor Peter provides occasion after occasion. I’m proud to celebrate Peter and his genius in the ever-changing world of fashion and evening wear. Working with Peter and his collection at BARNEYS NY had a very strong influence on my desire to start my own company. His number one concern was to provide a garment that exuded excellence from the inside out. My number one concern was to be there 100 percent for my client. Even after dressing our First Lady, Michelle Obama, he still celebrates Made In America and oversees every garment he sews to perfection.

Peter proved to be such a great Mentor in my life as someone who was not concerned with the celebrity aspect of the business, but more committed to authenticity and providing the client with a garment of stellar quality to compliment any body type and one that could be passed on from generation to generation.

As someone who worked in the Evening Wear department of a Luxury Brand at BARNEYS NY, I can also testify to the fact that when you buy an Evening Wear garment from Peter Soronen the buttons do not fall off, the zipper does not break, and if it is a size 6 it fits like a size 6. There is something to be applauded about a designer who, after more than 11 years, is still personally committed to the quality of his work.

It is also refreshing to work with a designer that can cater to a wide range of clientele. I have had clients from the age of 16 who dropped their Versace gown on hold for one of his stunning creations, to a 60-year-old woman who just wanted to feel sexy and classy at the same time.

I’m so honored to be able to celebrate the corset artistry of PETER SORONEN, because Peter is someone who didn’t buy into the hip, but someone who strongly believed in his vision enough to realize that the rest of the world would catch up with him one day!
“ELEMENTS of FIERCE!” celebrates Peter Soronen for never giving up on any of his dreams and for being an inspiration to us all. He has shown us that with hard work and strong conviction anything is possible!
