EXCELLENCE LIVING IT!
I can still hear my fathers wise words spoken to me as a child in regards to work ethics “Son no matter what the task, even if it’s cleaning toilets, you clean those toilets like they’ve never been cleaned before and proudly represent your family name!”
Unfortunately, during my 53yrs on this planet, I’ve seen a severe decline in this regard of taking PRIDE in self, and whatever you do?
Mind you this is no easy task and even someone like myself, who really works hard at it and seems to have it all together, suffers from moments of feeling LOST & LONELY! But, giving up on living an excellent life is not an option!
“If you want to find the real competition, just look in the mirror. After awhile you’ll see your rivals scrambling for second place.”
Criss Jami, Killosophy
And remember, just like in the Olympics, the rewards for excellence are GOLDEN!
The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) wrote: “Let where you are going, not where you come from, henceforth be your honor! Your will and your foot that desires to step out beyond you–let them be your new honour!” –Thus Spoke Zarathustra: A Book for Everyone and No One, translated by R.J. Hollingdale (London: Penguin Books, 1969), p.220.
As a National Track & Field competitor in my Youth, I learned at a young age the importance of looking forward. There was no time to dwell on yesterday’s results. The most important thing, as in life, was to maintain an optimistic forward-thinking attitude.
Beating your own best record and striving for a newfound level of excellence was a day to day occurrence.
This coach inspired conditioning proved to be invaluable later on in my life as an adult entering the world.
Stagnation equaled defeat!
And not only until now in my 50s is my true success becoming apparent! And this type of success is found in not being swayed by the perception of thinking others are doing better than you, but staying on the path you’ve chosen to fulfill a mission only you can fulfill.
The important thing is to start something and see it through to fruition! Of course, you have blunders and you will fall many times. What truly matters, and separates a winner from a loser is not staying down, but every time picking yourself back up. Keep moving onward and upward!
This leads me to
TODAYS NOTE FROM THE UNIVERSE
“Why wouldn’t everything in your life start getting much, much easier?
Why wouldn’t those things you now fear, Blane, dissolve into dust?
Why wouldn’t the rest of your life be the best of your life?
I mean, you’ve NEVER been as awesome, or wise, or deserving, as you are today.”
Huh? Huh? Huh?
I leave you with the poetic words of Mark F. LaMoure, executive chairman at World Class Dynamics
“Autograph your life with a signature of excellence”
